Skrubb it Out

Don't think and type...it's bad for you!

So I shouldn't be alloed to think and type after 8 pm. Sort of like gremlins......don't expose them to bright lights, don't get them wet, and don't allow them to think after 8.....

At any rate, I posted previously that my father is scheduled for a biopsy, this is incorrect. He is schedule for partial hand amputation. I believe they are just going to remove the affected region (about the size of a nickel I'm told). I'm going to ask the doctor if he will go ahead and remove at least the index finger and get it replaced by IBM's "Bionic Finger". You know, one finger with the power of twelve! That way dad doesn't have to work so hard to scratch that itchy place on his bum.

If that doesn't work out, maybe we can replace the pointer finger (not to be confused with the pointer sisters) with a green laser. He would finally have a true "pointer" finger then. For Christmas we could buy him little attachments that make the laser into a star, or tree, or Baby Jesus, or Tom Cruise's god. Interchangable "pointer" finger modules......it's a whole new market to explore.....

....the sun.....

My father informed me, o-so-casually, that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. They (whoever "they" are) claim that it's not melanoma. He has a biopsy scheduled for later this month. Hopefully this will turn out to be a minor thing. Not really sure if I'm ready to watch cancer take my father, even if his nickname should be Darth Ass.

The stench of humanity...

He hit me in the eye.....

I broke an acoustic string and almost lost a finger in the process.....

Ryan and Khan interviewed this week at my company. Both interviews went exceptionally well. I'm pretty sure (like 98%) Khan will be getting a very positive offer sometime in the near future (2 weeks hopefully). Monkey Boy seems to be very excited about this turn of events as well. If only we could convince Big Jon to come with Khan......that would be supper f'n role-playing goodness sweet!

Ryan's visit started out very nicely. As soon as he arrived a beer was made available to him. Within 10 minutes of arrival, a Yuengling marinated ribeye steak (med. rare) was put on a plate for him with potatoe salad, baked beans, and other tasty goodness. At the same time the Florida State game was made available on the main TV. Don't think it is possible to have made his arrival any better. His interview went stellar as well. He was not going to be able to interview for the job I was hoping he would get originally, instead he was interviewing for a less fancified position. However, he impressed the panel so well that they are reconsidering him for the original (better) position. Mad props to Ryan for uber-interview skillz.

Big'J's wife is recovering from surgery VERY slowly (poor girl). They had one or two scares with a low red blood count and low oxygen levels. I'm told that she is getting better and is up and around some now (which is a good sign). Lil'J is very unhappy that mommy will not pick him up and play with him.....spoiled child.....

I discovered that a friend of mine (Gusty, he's a best-friend of my neighbor) is both a mortgage guy and a realtor. He and I have been discussing possible housing plans for my near future. I'm pretty stoked as I don't think he'll try to screw me as bad as a stranger. Better to be screwed by a friend, right?

Monkey Boy will be getting married in Feb. The wedding is on a cruise to the Bahamas. I have been asked to be his Best Man. As such, I will definitely be attending the wedding. Our friend Narcosleepy (old roommates of MB that could go to sleep on command...for real....I ain't lieing) will be my roomy for the trip, which "F'n A rocks, Cotton!" Khan will be in attendance as well I'm told. So, I need to start the process of getting a passport starting with the super-duper birth certificate. Gah!! I hate paperwork, hehe.

Kinda-sorta met this girl who has a smile that lights up the room. Wasn't brave enough (or sober enough) to introduce myself. Mental note, must at least say hi next time.

As always Rich & Laura's party was a blast! I think Cheese Girl (MB's fiance) is mad at me for bringing MB. She's going to have to get over it. Nothing to crazy happened this time, but we had a wonderful evening. Thanks to them for hosting and the steak & chicken skewers were over the top excellent!
